call me pretty
Mia Donaldson
call me pretty.
hold my slinking silk cheeks
between your thumb and forefinger;
make me your siren,
your liege;
laugh at my pantomime
and insist that i stay;
insist that i am your sun
and scrap your intentions
in favor of mine,
which are to ignore
and play pretend,
to drag you by your
collar into legs
plush enough to punish,
and after we’re done
spit me out
in favor of the image you’ve bred.
